Aims and Constitution
Our Aims:

The purpose of the Association is to foster a greater sense of community between all those connected with the school in the past or presently, and to provide them with an opportunity to support Shatin College and its future.


SCAA Constitution:

  • That this Association be called "SHA TIN COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION”
  • The purpose of this Association is to foster a greater sense of community between all those connected with the school in the past or presently, and to provide them with an opportunity to support Shatin College and its future
  • That all the pupils educated at Shatin College be eligible for membership and all past and present members of staff of Shatin College be eligible to honorary membership. Present students may be admitted during their last term, but are not members until they have left School
  • .Anybody who has rendered distinguished service to the School may be elected an Honorary Member if duly proposed and seconded at a General Meeting. The Headmaster of the Shatin College is automatically an Honorary Member by right of office. The Officers of the Association shall be:
    • A PresidentVice-Presidents (up to a total of 3)
    • A General Secretary
    • A Treasurer
  • Overseas co-ordinators appointed when / where necessary
  • The Officers shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to serve for a period of three years after which they may be eligible for re-election. Notice of nomination of Officers of the Association are to be made in writing to the General Secretary at least two weeks before the AGM.
  • The affairs of the Association shall be in the hands of an Executive Committee under the Chairmanship of the President, comprising the Officers of the Association. The Executive Committee may from time to time appoint sub-committees as they think necessary.
  • In the case of resignation or death or removal of any of their number, the Executive Committee may co-opt any member of the Association to fill such vacancies for the remainder of the term of office to the formal holder.
  • The Executive Committee shall meet at least 4 times a year, one of these meetings shall be shortly before the AGM and shall also hold such other meetings as deemed necessary.
  • An Extraordinary General Meeting may be held for special business if demanded in writing to the General Secretary by five members.
  • Members must be given at least two weeks notice of the date of such meeting.
  • There are no subscription rates required to join the Shatin College Alumni Association.
  • Members of the Association shall receive a Newsletter and from time to time a list of members.
