TALK ON MEDICAL CAREER BY ALUMNI

A young graduate spent an hour in briefing students on preparation for a medical career, a path he himself has chosen to follow. Jacky Lau, a 2002 graduate and a doctor in UK at present advised students to ask themselves if they are really interested to study medicine. If they are, they need to be well prepared for good and successful admission interviews and when admitted be prepared for the tough training ahead. He also quoted examples to illustrate differences between teaching and learning in medical school and at school like problem based lectures. He and Sam Chan, a graduate of 2004 and a doctor in Hong Kong, conducted mock interviews for students after the talk. Sam, on another occasion has also given guidance to students on preparation for a career in this profession, the career path as doctors in HK vs UK. Thanks to Jacky and Sam for their dedicated contributions to the College.
